If the weather permits Tuesday, planes will begin spraying for invasive gypsy moths in Wisconsin. These yellow planes fly low and begin their operations at daybreak.
DATCP’s Rick Hummell says the substance being used is “organic and safe.”
In all, 25 Wisconsin counties will be sprayed during the program which is set to be complete in July. The targeted area involves Southwestern to Western Wisconsin. The first counties scheduled are Green, Rock, Lafayette and Grant, as well as an area overlapping Dane and Iowa Counties.
