The WIAA‘s proposal for expanding its state basketball tournament to five divisions failed to clear its first hurdle on Thursday.
The Basketball Coaches Advisory Committee defeated the motion to approve and advance the plan by a 5-3 vote.
The group is one of three committee’s that weigh in on the plan before the Board of Control makes a final decision on the matter.
