State democrats left their weekend convention with a charge to get more democrats elected in 2008.

Aiming for a majority, state democrats already have an election day target on the back of at least three republican assembly seats. But they're not stopping there.

Wisconsin Congress woman Tammy Baldwin reminded the convention there are sixteen months until the door is closed on what she calls the most damaging presidency in American history.

Senator Herb Kohl says Iraq is the main reason a change is needed. He says it's time to end it now, calling the war a foreign policy disaster.

Senator Russ Feingold agrees but warns democrats to be careful about republican spin. Feingold got a laugh from the crowd when he said if they're not careful the republicans will have you believing the democrats invaded Iraq and Hurricane Katrina happened during the Bill Clinton administration.

State democrats had their marching orders as they left Milwaukee.
