Wisconsin and Department of Homeland Security are teaming up to urge the public to report suspicious activity to police. The state has launched a tip line and website as part of the the “If you See Something, Say Something,” a nation campaign designed to encourage the public to report activity that seems out of place.
Governor Scott Walker says the campaign will allow people to report things they see that don’t seem right in their community.
Reports can be made by calling 1-877-WI-WATCH or online. The information will go to agencies in Milwaukee or Madison, which will then pass it along to local law enforcement.
Walker says those reports can be about anything that just doesn’t seem right, but may not necessarily warrant a call to 911. He says rather than trying to think about if it qualifies, people should just call.
