Efforts continue to help minority businesses in Wisconsin. For the 25th year, the state is hosting its annual Minority Business Development convention in Milwaukee this week. Tony Hozeny with the State Department of Commerce says the event helps minority business owners find the tools they need to succeed by connecting them with business partners. Hozeny says the state benefits greatly from having strong minority-owned businesses. He adds that the department is maintaining its commitment to help those businesses get the funding they need. The event lasts all day Wednesday at the Hilton Hotel in Milwaukee's Civic Center.
