Wisconsin elected officials mounted a full court press Friday, in an effort to save General Motor jobs in Janesville. While Governor Jim Doyle and Congressman Paul Ryan met with General Motors officials in Detroit, Senator Russ Feingold and Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin held a similar meeting with the automaker's CEO in Washington. State officials presented what they call an aggressive incentive plan to GM, one General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner reportedly said he will seriously consider. GM has announced plans to close the Janesville plant by 2010.
