Efforts are underway to make sure Wisconsin laws can handle sexual predators that target children. A special legislative committee has been set up to review sex offender laws passed by state lawmakers during the recent session.
State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) chairs the committee. She says their largest concern is making sure the new laws are able to work with previous measures. Darling the review committee will also work to clarify state law, so there's no confusion when sexual predators are charged under the new measures.
Legislation being examined includes Jessica's Law and a program requiring GPS monitoring of sex offenders.
