The Department of Natural Resources is having a change of heart on testing deer for Chronic Wasting Disease.
Earlier this year, the DNR had said budget constraints would prevent them from testing deer this fall. Now, spokesman Greg Matthews says the decision has been changed.
Matthews says during the early gun deer season very few people came in to get deer tested, so now they're opening up all the CWD zones to free hunter service testing. He says it's going to start now for those out bow hunting. It will also be in effect when the regular gun deer hunt opens November 17th.
