It rained over most of southern Wisconsin Tuesday. That may have kept statewide turnout low.
Kyle Richmond with the State Elections Board says it looks to be only 16 per cent. That's considered low when they were expecting 20 to 25 per cent turnout.
But Richmond says once voters got to the polls everything worked relatively well including the new voter registration system. Only 11 names didn't make it to the new computerized system. Richmond says three point one million voters did make the list.
Richmond says there were some minor problems but nothing that can't be corrected by November.
As for voter fraud protection, Richmond says clerks were given lists of deceased voters so the rolls could be cleared and they also got a list of current convicted felons to compare against people trying to vote.
