Less than a week after their principal was shot in a hallway by a classmate, students at the Weston School in Cazenovia returned to class today. Most of them were wearing blue T-shirts that called Principal John Klang a superhero. School officials say they're looking at a long healing process as they get back into the school, but are willing to work together to move on with life.
The school has classes for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Officials say very few of the 370 students who attend classes there were absent today.
Klang was shot three times last Friday while trying to disarm a student. 15-year-old Eric Hainstock has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the shooting. Weston's homecoming was cancelled because of the shooting, but has been rescheduled for a week from Saturday.
