A new study finds nearly a third of the high school girls in the state are having sex. Julaine Appling of the Wisconsin Family Council says it's unsettling. She blames it on teens getting the message at school that recreational sex is OK.
Appling says abstinence only programs in schools would send the right message. She says telling kids to say "No" to tobacco and drugs, but telling them to have safe sex is ridiculous.
The Alverno College study also found that 27 percent of high school aged boys in Wisconsin are also sexually active.
