Jeff Suppan, 5-0 at Miller Park when he was with the Cardinals and the Pirates, lost his debut as a member of the Brewers, after signing a 4-year, $42-million free agent contract.  The Brewers fell behind early and lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4 at Miller Park, dropping the 3rd and final game of the series.

Suppan allowed 2 runs on 7 hits and got through seven innings, but took the loss.

Jason Schmidt escaped a bases loaded jam in the 5th inning to pick up the win in his Dodgers debut.  The former Giants ace signed a 3-year, $47-million deal with the Dodgers in December.

J.J. Hardy homered in the loss for the Brewers (2-1).  They're off today and will entertain the Chicago Cubs in the first of a three game series Friday night at Miller Park.
