The New York Mets avoided a sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers, winning 10-4 at Miller Park on Sunday afternoon. 

The Mets broke open a close game in the 6th inning when Luis Castillo’s 2-run single off of Jeff Suppan gave them a 4-2 lead.  Suppan allowed two more in the 7thto go up 6-2 before closing out with 4 more in the 9th off of rookie Zach Braddock.

The Mets improved to 4-12 in May away from Citi Field and avoided falling back to .500 (26-25).

Suppan, in the last year of his $42-million contract said he has felt good of late, but just didn’t get the job done on Sunday.

Suppan told reporters after the game that he hasn’t lost confidence.

Rickie Weeks homered twice for the Brewers, who finished their 6-game homestand with a 4-2 record. 

35 year old R.A. Dickey (2-0) was solid for 7-innings for the Mets.  It was the longest of three starts for the knuckleballer this season.

The Brewers are in Florida to face the Marlins today.
