The Milwaukee Brewers are playing meaningful baseball in the month of September for the first time in a long time.  Prince Fielder clubbed his National League leading 40th home run to lead the Brewers to a 7-4 win and a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend at Miller Park.

Jeff Suppan combined with four relieves to pick up the win.  Suppan worked five innings, allowing 4 runs (2 earned) in picking up his first win since June 22nd against Kansas City.

Ryan Braun continued to show signs of getting out of his hitting slump by going 3 for 4 and Suppan helped his own cause by going 2 for 2 at the plate.

The Brewers still trail the Cubs by 1 1/2 games atop the National League Central.  They open a 3-game series against the Houston Astros today.  Ben Sheets       (11-4) faces Houston ace Roy Oswalt (14-6) in the pitching matchup.
