Final figures are in for this year's race for State Supreme Court, and they show record spending of $6 million, as challenger Michael Gableman upset incumbent Louis Butler.
All that money on ads made for a pretty ugly election, says Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign. He says the ads were nastier, more personal, and just trashier than ever before.
McCabe says outside interest groups, including the teachers union and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, outspent the candidates by a four-to-one margin.
