The Milwaukee Brewers announced the signing of hitting coach Dale Sveum to a 2-year contract that runs through the 2012 season. Sveum has been on the Brewers coaching staff since 2006.
Under Sveum’s direction as hitting coach last season, the Brewers finished 2nd in home runs (182), 3rd in slugging percentage (.424), 4th in runs (750), 4th in batting average (.262), 4th in on base percentage (.335) and 5th in walks (546).
