The Major League Baseball all-star starters were released on Sunday and there were no Milwaukee Brewers on the list of National League starters.

The reserves and pitching staffs will be announced in both leagues tonight.

The Brewers have a few players that have a chance to land a spot as a reserve.  The best chance comes from closer Francisco Rodriguez, who is a perfect 18 for 18 in save situations this season.

Outfielder Ryan Braun goes into the final week for the all-star break with 15 home runs and 54 RBI.  His average stands at .277, but that number has been steadily climbing.

Adam Lind, who tied a club record by driving in at least one run in nine straight games, is also a possibility for the Brewers.

The Milwaukee Brewers continued their torrid hitting pace in Saturday’s 7-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark.

The win extended the Brewers win streak to seven straight games, the last six coming on the road.  The 7-game streak is the longest for the Brewers since they won nine straight in April of last season.

The Brewers broke open a 1-1 tie in the fifth when they scored six times, sending 12 hitters to the plate.

Cincinnati pitchers hit four Brewer hitters with pitches, including Carlos Gomez, who had to leave the game.  X-rays were negative on his left wrist. [Read more…]

Adam Lind singled in the game winning run in the 11th inning last night, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 8-7 win and four-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

The sweep if the first of the season for the Brewers, who have now won three straight series.  They’ve won five in a row for the first time since last August.  The Brewers are 8-2 in their last 10 games.

Jonathan Lucroy had three hits to pace the Brewers 16-hit attack.  The Brewers scored 33-runs and collected 59-hits during the four game series.

The Brewers started the series in close proximity with the Phillies, who own the worst record in the Major Leagues.  Now there’s some separation as the Brewers have moved six games in front of the Phillies.

The Brewers blew a 7-4 lead when the Phillies scored three times off of Brewers relievers Jonathan Broxton and Will Smith.

The Brewers head to Cincinnati to open a weekend series against the Reds.

The Milwaukee Brewers pounded out a season high 17 hits and knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies 9-5 on Wednesday night.

Adam Lind clubbed a two-run homer, his 12th of the season and Scooter Gennett had three hits (2 doubles and a triple) in the victory.

Kyle Lohse not only won his second straight game, but he added three hits with his bat.  Lohse worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed 9 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks and struck out four.

Gerardo Parra tied the score with a pinch-hit rbi single in the 7th, then Ryan Braun and Adam Lind clubbed home runs in the 8th to send the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins at Miller Park on Sunday.

The extra runs proved to be necessary after Francisco Rodriguez served up Torii Hunter’s 2-run homer in the 9th in a non-save situation.

Braun’s blast to left was his 15th of the season.  Lind clubbed his 11th home run of the season.

Mike Fiers pitched one of his best games of the season, allowing a single run on four hits in seven innings.  Fiers walked three and struck out four.  Fiers worked seven innings for just the second time this season.

Will Smith worked a scoreless 8th to improve to 4-0 this season.

The Brewers took 2 of 3 from the Twins, winning their second straight series.  They’ll hit the road and open a 3-game series in Philadelphia against the Phillies tonight.  Jimmy Nelson (4-8, 4.34  ERA) works for the Brewers.  Sean O’Sullivan (1-5, 5.34 ERA) will pitch for the Phillies.

Brewers win series opener

June 24, 2015 By Bill Scott

Brewers logoThe Milwaukee Brewers opened up their six-game homestand by beating the New York Mets on Monday night at Miller Park, 3-2.

Adam Lind had two hits and an RBI, centerfielder Carlos Gomez went 1-2 in his return from a nagging hip injury, and Mike Fiers surrendered two earned runs and four hits over six innings for Milwaukee (26-46), who sent New York (36-36) down to their sixth straight defeat.

Mets leftfielder Michael Cuddyer’s error on Lind’s seventh inning double, allowing Gomez to score opened the door for the Brewers, who had lost eight of their last nine games coming into Monday’s contest.

While Fiers did not factor into the decision, he notch a quality start. Francisco Rodriguez came on in the ninth inning and recorded his 14th save.

Game two of the series is Tuesday night. Jimmy Nelson (3-8, 4.64 ERA) pitches for Milwaukee against New York’s Bartolo Colon (9-5, 4.81 ERA).

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Adam Lind went 3 for 5 with a three-run homer and drove in six runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 10-5 win over the Minnesota Twins in their series opener at Target Field.

Lind’s double put the Brewers ahead to stay in the 8th inning and his single in the ninth provided some insurance.

The Brewers jumped out to a 5-0 lead through four innings, but the Twins rallied with five runs in the fifth off of starter Kyle Lohse.  Lohse had scattered just two singles over the first four innings.

Three Milwaukee pitchers combined to allow four home runs and the Brewers dropped their sixth in-a-row, 7-5 to the Arizona Diamondbacks in their series opener at Miller Park on Friday night.

Starter Jimmy Nelson, who wasn’t involved in the decision, allowed a pair of home runs.  Relievers Jonathan Broxton and Corey Knebel allowed one each as the Brewers have now lost eight of their last nine.

Brewer pitchers have allowed 64 home runs through 49 games this season, second-most in the major leagues.  Only San Diego is worse, allowing 66 long balls entering Friday.

The Brewers had the bases loaded with one out in the 7th inning and the game tied 4-4, but Aramis Ramirez fouled out and Jean Segura struck out to end the rally. [Read more…]

Everything seem to come together for the Milwaukee Brewers, who defeated the Tigers 8-1 last night to claim a second straight win and a series win.

Tied at one in the third inning, Ryan Braun, Adam Lind, and Aramis Ramirez combined to hit back-to-back-to-back home runs as part of a six-run frame.

The three consecutive home runs were the first ever by a visiting team at Comerica Park, and the first for the Brewers since August 27, 2012.

Overshadowed by the display of power was starter Jimmy Nelson’s dominating outing. He limited Detroit to one run on three hits over eight innings to improve to 2-4 on the season and help Milwaukee to its second road series win.  [Read more…]
