Packers Hall of Fame Inc. postpones 50th Induction Banquet

The 50th Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. Induction Banquet, which was first rescheduled from 2020 until April of this year, will be postponed until August 2021, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The August date, which will be finalized once the Packers schedule is announced, will allow more time for the general public to be vaccinated.

The Induction Banquet will feature Charles Woodson and Al Harris as the newest inductees into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame.  Also being honored is Bud Selig as the Bob Harlan Leadership Award recipient and the late Zeke Bratkowski as the Bart and Cherry Starr Recognition Award recipient.

A new Media Award has been established by the Packers Hall of Fame Inc. and the first recipient will be the late Bud Lea, for whom the award will be named in the future.  Regarding the special recognition as the Most Memorable Moment in Packers history, LeRoy Butler and Robert Brooks will be accepting on behalf of the world-renowned Lambeau Leap.

Former Badgers & Packers quarterback Tolzien joins Cowboys coaching staff

Former Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packers quarterback Scott Tolzien has reportedly been hired by the Dallas Cowboys as an assistant coach.

Tolzien spent three seasons with the Packers under coach Mike McCarthy, who has now hired Tolzien in Dallas.

Tolzien made a pair of starts with the Packers during the 2013 season with Aaron Rodgers sidelined by injury.  He made two more starts during a stint with the Indianapolis Colts.  Tolzien spent seven-years in the NFL.

Tolzien spent the last season scouting upcoming opponents for the Wisconsin Badgers.

McCarthy has also added former Packer Al Harris as an assistant secondary coach and former Packers director of player development Rob Davis as an assistant coach.

Packers Hall of Fame announces 2020 class

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. will induct former Green Bay Packers cornerbacks Al Harris and Charles Woodson at the 50th Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, which will be held April 18, 2020.

Woodson was selected fourth overall in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders after winning the 1997 Heisman Trophy as a junior at the University of Michigan.  After eight seasons in Oakland, Woodson came to the Green Bay Packers as a free agent in 2006, where he spent the next seven years of his career, posting 38 interceptions and 115 passes defensed.

Woodson was selected to four straight Pro Bowls (2008-11) while with the Packers and led the league in interceptions in 2009 and 2011.  He holds [Read more…]
