Tyler Saladino added a solo home run and drove in two runs, while Jesus Aguilar drove in three runs, leading the Brewers to a sweep of the three-game series.

Brent Suter allowed a pair of solo home runs in 5 2/3 innings of work and improved to 4-3.

July 2, 2012 By Bill Scott

There haven’t been many things going the Brewers way in 2012.  Sunday, Milwaukee finally caught a break as they notched a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Miller Park.

The Brewers won the game in the bottom of the 9th on a crazy play.  After Aramis Ramirez walked, Carlos Gomez pinch-ran and stole 2nd.  during the steal, D-Backs catcher Miguel Montero’s throw went into center-field allowing Gomez to advance to third.  Then Gerardo Parra’s throw from center went into the crowd and Gomez was award home giving the Brewers the win.  Brewers Manager Ron Roenicke hopes this can spring the team in the right direction heading into the All-Star Break…

Through the first four games of the NLDS, the home team has held serve.

Miller Park

Arizona, after trailing 2-0 in the series, went home to win the last two games in convincing fashion over the Milwaukee Brewers in Phoenix.  Now Brewers and Diamondbacks play the 5th and deciding game of the series with a win or go home mentality.

Game 1 winner Yovani Gallardo returns to pitch game 5 tonight against Arizona’s ace and 21-game winner Ian Kennedy.  Gallardo has had plenty of good fortune against the Diamondbacks.  He’s 6-0 lifetime against Arizona, including a 3-0 mark this season.  Gallardo’s goal is easily defined initially, don’t give the Diamondbacks any runs early. Brewers win in 10 innings; likely lose Gomez for the Season

July 21, 2011 By Bill Scott

After squandering a 2-0 lead in the 8th inning, the Milwaukee Brewers fought back to notch a 5-2 win in 10-innings last night in Arizona over Diamondbacks.  Unfortunately, OF Carlos Gomez broke his collar-bone while making a diving catch in the 4th inning.

Manager Ron Roenicke said after the game that Gomez would be out of action for at least 2-months, longer if he needed surgery which likely will be the season.  Gomez has been platooning in center-field with Nyjer Morgan starting against left-handed starters.  Gomez was batting .276 in that role and was 2nd on the team in stolen bases with 15.  Roenicke on the situation:

July 20, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Brewers hit five home runs as the crushed the Diamondbacks Tuesday night 11-3 at Chase Field in Arizona.  Ryan Braun was back in the line-up after missing that last two games with a leg injury.  It was just the 4th time in the last 14-games for the Brewers that Braun was able to play since injuring his leg July 2nd in Minnesota.

Braun had one of three Milwaukee home runs in the first inning.  The two-run shot was Braun’s 17th of the season.  Corey Hart lead off the game with his 13th of the year.  Hart hopes the Brewers can build on Tuesday:

Arizona blanks the Brewers

July 19, 2011 By Bill Scott

For the 9th time this year the Milwaukee Brewers failed to score a run in a game.  Last night, the Arizona Diamond Backs stopped the Crew 3-0 at Chase Field.

D-backs Rookie Josh Collmenter tormented the Brewers for the 2nd time this season.  Last night he gave up just 3-hits in 8-innings.  Back on July 6th, Collmenter tossed 6 shut-out innings of 3-hit baseball.  Brewers starter Randy Wolf says Collmenter is for real:
