Bucks swing deal with Clippers

August 27, 2014 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks sent veteran forward Carlos Delfino and backup center Miroslav Raduljica to the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday in exchange for small forward Jared Dudley and a 2017 first round draft pick.

The Bucks also part with a 2015 second-round draft pick.

Delfino signed a 2-year, $6.5-million deal prior to last season but didn’t play at all due to a right foot injury and required a second surgery.  He could miss all of next season as well.

Dudley played last season for the Clippers after a productive stretch from 2008-13 with the Phoenix Suns.  He averaged 6.9 points in 74 games for the Clippers last season, including 43 starts.

Dudley has two years left on his current contract.

Bucks signing

The Bucks also announced the signing of second-round pick Damien Inglis.

The 6’8 forward signed a three-year deal with a team option.  Inglis was the first pick in the second round, 31st overall.

Bucks sign a pair of familiar free agents

July 18, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks have signed a pair of familiar free agents yesterday.  Both Carlos Delfino and Zaza Pachulia have had previous stints with the team.

Delfino returns after spending last season with the Houston Rockets, averaging 10.6 points in 67 games.  Delfino previously played with the Bucks for three seasons from 2009-2012.

Pachulia returns for his second stint with the Bucks after also spending the 2004-05 season with the Bucks.  He spent the last eight seasons in Atlanta after averaging 6.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 74 games for the Bucks.

Bucks vs. Lakers today

The 9th seeded Bucks will meet the 8th seeded Los Angeles Lakers this afternoon in the tournament portion of the NBA Summer League.

The Bucks are 2-1 in Summer League play with their only loss coming against top seeded and unbeaten Golden State.

Atlanta matches offer sheet on Teague

July 15, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Atlanta Hawks threw a wrench in the Milwaukee Bucks plans at point guard over the weekend.

Milwaukee signed restricted free agent Jeff Teague to a 4-year, $32-million offer sheet late last week.  Since Teague was a restricted free agent, the Hawks then had 72-hours to match the offer.  Saturday they did just that.

Teague averaged over 14-points and 7-assists a game last season for the Hawks playing under then Atlanta and current Milwaukee head coach Larry Drew.  The move also signified the Bucks intentions to move past Brandon Jennings, who is a restricted free agent of their own.

It’s hard to say what Milwaukee will do now.  Jennings is still on the market but it is safe to assume that his relationship with the Bucks is tarnished with the attempt to get Teague.  Jennings is a restricted free agent, so the Bucks will have the option to match any offer he would receive.  So far this off-season, Milwaukee has added a trio of guards in Luke Ridnour, O.J Mayo, and Carlos Delfino.

Bucks agree to deals with 3-players

July 8, 2013 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks General Manager John Hammond had a busy weekend as the team reportedly agreed to terms with a trio of free agents.

Friday, the report came out that Milwaukee was bringing in shooting guard O.J Mayo on a 3-year, $24-million deal.  Mayo has played 5-years in the league posting 15.3 points a game.  After spending his first 4-seasons in Memphis, Mayo played with Dallas last year where he shot a career best 40.7% from behind the arc.

The other two signings for the Bucks will bring back a pair of former players.  Saturday, Milwaukee agreed to a 3-year $15-million deal with big man Zaza Pachulia.  Pachulia was with Atlanta last year with current Milwaukee Head Coach Larry Drew.  Pachulia was with the Bucks for the 2004-2005 season.

Sunday, news broke of a 2-year, $7-million deal with swingman Carlos Delfino.  Delfino played in Milwaukee for three seasons from 2009 to 2012 where he averaged 10.5 points a game.  Before last season, Delfino signed a multi-year deal with Houston but was let go to make cap-room for the Dwight Howard signing.

Free agency began July 1st in the NBA as teams could talk with players but nothing can officially be signed until July 10th when all the salary cap numbers become official.

Heat refuse to get swept by the Bucks

February 14, 2012 By Bill Scott

It’s hard to believe the Miami Heat lost the first two games in their series with the Milwaukee Bucks.  They weren’t about to get swept by a team that entered with just 12 wins in 27 games.

Miami only led by 5 at the half, but they broke it open in the second half and won going away, 114-96 over the Bucks at the Bradley Center.

Dwyane Wade added 22 points for the Heat, who out scored the Bucks 35-24 in the third quarter to take control.  James had 16 points in the third quarter.

Carlos Delfino scored 24 for the Bucks, who have now dropped 4-straight at the Bradley Center.

Miami improved to 22-7, equaling the franchise’s best start after the first 29 games.

Bucks snap losing streak, win in Toronto

February 9, 2012 By Bill Scott

Carlos Delfino gave the Milwaukee Bucks a much-needed lift.  Facing his former team, Delfino scored 25 points to lead the Bucks to a 105-99 win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

Delfino hit 6 of 8 three-pointers for the Bucks.  Drew Gooden added 20 points and 14 rebounds, Mike Dunleavy had 18 and Stephen Jackson 17 points in the win.

Milwaukee’s leading scorer, point guard Brandon Jennings was relatively quiet for the second night in-a-row.  Jennings scored just 11 points and hit only 3 of 12 from the field.  Jennings came in averaging more than 19 points a game.

The Bucks are off today.  They’ll face the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Friday night.
