For the 11th straight time, the Milwaukee Brewers were involved in a game decided by two or fewer runs. They won their second straight close outing, knocking off the Braves 3-2 in 13 innings.
Jonathan Villar’s RBI single in the top of the 13th was the game winner at Turner Field. The Brewers are 6-5 during the 11-game stretch and 4-4 in one-run games during that time frame.
The winning rally started when Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled. Aaron Hill followed with a walk and Keon Broxton recorded his first major-league hit with a bloop bunt that evaded the pitcher.
Martin Maldonado grounded into a fielder’s choice with Nieuwenhuis being forced out at home. Villar then followed with a single to left that scored Hill. [Read more…]
