Packers hoping for better health at corner

Micah Hyde had one interception after moving to cover corner last Sunday.

The Green Bay Packers are hoping for better luck with their secondary this week as they open the NFC’s Wildcard playoffs on Sunday afternoon (3:40 p.m.) at Lambeau Field.

Cornerback Quinten Rollins, who left the Lions game on a stretcher, was placed in the teams concussion protocol as he recovers from head and neck injuries.

Damarious Randall, who suffered a knee injury on Sunday night, practiced on Wednesday.  It would appear that Randall will play on Sunday.

The Packers were forced to move players around on Sunday night as Micah Hyde was moved to outside cover corner and Morgan Burnett played slot corner with the numbers dwindling. [Read more…]

Packers welcome new rookies on Friday

Packers logoThe Green Bay Packers will welcome their new draft picks and rookie free agent signees’ this weekend.  They’ll hold a rookie orientation minicamp starting Friday.

Packers fans will get the chance to see the Packers practice during their offseason workout program.

There will be three OTA practices open to the public, May 24, June 2 and June 6.  They’ll also open all three mandatory minicamp workouts June 14th through the 16th.

Packers sign FA wide receiver

The Packers also signed former University of Miami (Fla.) wide receiver Herb Waters to a free-agent deal.

The Homestead, Florida native played four years for the Hurricanes, catching 41 passes for 624 yards last season.
