Packers Bush arrested for public intoxication (Update)

March 2, 2015 By Bill Scott

Jarrett Bush

Jarrett Bush

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jarrett Bush was arrested early Sunday morning by the Vacaville (California) Police on suspicion of public intoxication and was later released with no charges.

Bush was released after paying $1600 bail.  He was arrested after a fight broke out, outside a bar.  When policed told Bush and others to clear the area, Bush refused to leave and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Police say Bush was cooperative at that point and was later released without charges.

Bush has been a core special teams player for nine seasons in Green Bay.  He was voted special teams captain in the 2014 postseason.

After this past season ended, Bush wasn’t certain about his future with the Packers.  He finished with 11 tackles and one pass break-up this past season and is set to hit the free agent market soon.

Packers veterans get some time off

August 6, 2012 By Bill Scott

Sunday night’s training camp workout was a showcase opportunity for some of

Graham Harrell

the younger players on the Green Bay Packers roster.

A handful of veterans were given the night off which allowed players like Graham Harrell and wide receiver Diondre Borel to get some more legitimate reps.

AUDIO: Mike McCarthy said it was great work for the younger players :19

Aaron Rodgers, Donald Driver, Ryan Pickett, Jarrett Bush, Jeff Saturday, Charles Woodson, Anthony Hargrove, A.J. Hawk and Greg Jennings were all off.  Jennings would have missed anyway because of a concussion.  John Kuhn could have taken the day off, but given the fact that he just returned to practice, he decided to work anyway.

Lee signs 1-year deal with the Oakland Raiders

March 22, 2012 By Bill Scott

Pat Lee never did make the impact the Green Bay Packers had hoped for when they selected him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Yesterday, Lee signed a 1-year free agent deal with the Oakland Raiders.

Lee was hurt by injuries in Green Bay, spending time on injured reserve in each of his first two seasons.

Bush’s deal

The 3-year deal that Jarrett Bush signed with the Green Bay Packers this week is worth $5.25-million, slightly more than his last contract, a 3-year deal worth $4.5-million.

Bush received a $1-million signing bonus.

Bush agree’s to 3-year deal with the Packers

March 20, 2012 By Bill Scott

Free agent defensive back Jarrett Bush has agreed to a three-year contract to

Jarrett Bush

stay with the Green Bay Packers.

The 27-year-old Bush took visits to the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals and cancelled a visit to Dallas to re-sign with the Packers.

Bush had 30 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and 2 interceptions for the Packers last season.

While Bush helped as a backup last season, his real value comes on special teams where Bush has been a top performer for the past few seasons.

A quiet start to free agency for Packers

March 14, 2012 By Bill Scott

While teams started shopping and signing free agent players around the NFL,

Scott Wells

all is quiet so far on the Green Bay Packers front.

Free agency officially got underway at 3pm Tuesday afternoon and the Packers started with nearly $7-million in salary cap room.  But Ted Thompson and company didn’t reach a deal with veteran center Scott Wells or defensive back Jarrett Bush.

The Packers are likely looking to reach a deal with one and most likely both players, but they’ll have to wait to see what the market will bear for both.

If Wells and Bush don’t get the kind of deals they’re hoping for, there’s a chance they could return to the Packers.

There was no interest in any other free agents from other teams, but that’s not a shocker.  Thompson rarely plays the free agent game, other than to sign his own players.

QB Matt Flynn has drawn some interest.  The Miami Dolphins are hoping to land Peyton Manning, but that’s not real likely.  Should the Dolphins miss out on that deal, they’ve already reached out to the Flynn camp to express their interest in the former Packers backup.

Running back Ryan Grant is also seeking offers from other teams, but the Packers have already said they would like to resign him.

NFL Free Agency opens today

March 13, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay Packers have until 3pm today to reach a deal with any of their seven soon-to-be free agents.  Without a deal by that deadline, the players will become unrestricted free agents and can negotiate with any other team in the league.

The top two in the Packers free agent class is center Scott Wells and defensive back/special teamer Jarrett Bush.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson has just shy of $7-million in salary cap space and he could be working on a deal to get Wells signed before the deadline.

Besides Wells and Bush, the Packers have five other players set to become free agents later today.  They are:  QB Matt Flynn, RB Ryan Grant, DE Howard Green, CB Pat Lee and LB Erik Walden.

Ryan Grant’s agent last week said his client will test the market, but the Packers have told him they would like to have him back.
