Suns battle back to beat the Bucks

Devin Booker poured in 30 points and Chris Paul added 28 points and seven assists to lead the Phoenix Suns to a come-from-behind 125-124 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA action on Wednesday night.

The Suns extended their winning streak to four games, while the Bucks five game winning streak came to an end.  Phoenix (15-9) has now won seven of their last eight.

Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in a season-high 47 points, but his 20-foot jumper at the buzzer was off the mark as the Bucks (16-9) finished just short of their sixth straight win.  Giannis made 15 of 23 shots from the field and 17 of 21 from the free throw line on the night.

All five Suns starters finished in double figures, including former Badger Frank Kaminsky, who had 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

The Bucks led by as many as 16 points before the Suns took the lead in the fourth quarter.  Khris Middleton added 18 points and Bryn Forbes had 17.  The Bucks played for the second straight game without Jrue Holiday, who is in the NBA’s health and safety protocols.  Holiday started the Bucks first 23 games and is averaging 16.4 points a game.

The Bucks are now 3-1 on their 6-game road trip and will head to Salt Lake City to face Utah on Friday night.

Bucks extend win streak to five games

The Milwaukee Bucks came from behind in the second half to knock off the Denver Nuggets 125-112, extending their winning streak to five games.

The Bucks (16-8) improved their road record to 7-6 and are off to a 3-0 start on their 6-game road trip.

The Bucks played without starting guard Jrue Holiday who was in active due to the league’s health and safety protocols.  The team found out about Holiday’s situation in time to cancel the teams shootaround.  Holiday will not travel with the Bucks for their game in Phoenix on Wednesday as part of the protocol.  There’s no timetable for his return.  Bryn Forbes got the start in his place and scored 15 points in the win. Bucks off to 2-0 start on six-game road trip

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 124-99 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night in Cleveland.

Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton added 20 points and Bryne Forbes added 18 points with a perfect 6-for-6 night from three-point territory.  The Bucks broke open a close game with a 42-18 run during the third and fourth quarters for their fourth straight win.

Andre Drummond had 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers.

The Bucks continue their road trip with a game on Monday night in Denver against the Nuggets.  The Bucks lost twice to the Nuggets last season and is just 9-40 all-time in Denver.

Bucks start road trip with victory in Cleveland

The Milwaukee Bucks started a six-game road trip with a 123-105 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night in Cleveland.

Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 33 points and Jrue Holiday added 17 to lead the Bucks.  Antetokounmpo started slow, partly because of early foul trouble, but he picked things up in the second half, where he scored 22 of his 33 points.

The Bucks outscored the Cavaliers 29-16 in the final quarter, winning their third straight.  Bobby Portis had 14 points off the bench and Donte DiVincenzo had 11 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.

Collin Sexton had 19 and Andre Drummond 18 for the Cavs.

The Bucks didn’t arrive in Cleveland until the day of the game after mechanical issues with their plane on Thursday while they were on the tarmac, sent them home for the night.

The Bucks improved to 7-0 against teams from the Central Division this season and will face the Cavaliers again on Saturday night in Cleveland.

Bucks end two-game slide, beat Portland

The Milwaukee Bucks (12-8) snapped a two-game losing streak by routing the Portland Trailblazers 134-106 on Monday night at Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks hit 21 of 42 from three-point range (50%) and shot 55.2% overall (53 for 96) in the win.  They led by as many as 39 points in the fourth quarter.

Jrue Holiday scored 22 points and Bobby Portis added 21 to lead six Bucks in double figures.  Holiday hit 10 of his 14 field goal attempts with seven rebounds and six assists.  Portis was 9 of 13 from the field with eight rebounds.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 18 points, Khris Middleton added 17, D.J. Augustin had 13 points and Bryn Forbes had 13.

Nassir Little led the Trailblazers (10-9) with 30 points.  The Bucks held Portland guard Damian Lillard to 17 points.

The Bucks host Indiana on Wednesday.  It’s the first meeting between the two teams this season.

Bucks drop second straight, fall at home to Lakers

The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their second straight game on Thursday night, falling 113-106 to the Los Angeles Lakers at Fiserv Forum.

The Lakers (12-4) improved to 8-0 on the road this season.  It was the first of a seven-game road trip for the Lakers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bucks, but he also committed nine of the teams 14 turnovers in the contest.  Jrue Holiday added 22 points, seven assists and five rebounds while Kris Middleton added 20 points and seven assists.

The Bucks hit just 9 of 28 from three-point distance, but they did score 58 points in the paint.

Lebron James scored 34 points to lead the Lakers.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 23 points, hitting 7-of-10 from the three-point line.

The Bucks game on Friday night against Washington has been postponed because the Wizards won’t have the minimum eight players available.  No makeup date has been set.  The Bucks will host the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

Bucks lose tight battle with Nets

Kevin Durant hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 36 seconds left and the Bucks last second attempt by Khris Middleton rimmed out as the Brooklyn Nets pulled out a 125-123 home win over the Milwaukee in NBA action on Monday night.

James Harden had 34 points and 12 assists and Durant added 30 points for the Nets, who extended their winning streak to four games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 34 points and 12 rebounds for the Bucks, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.  Middleton added 25 points and Jrue Holiday had 22 for the Bucks.

The Nets played for the seventh straight game without point guard Kyrie Irving because of personal reasons.  He could return in the Nets next game in Cleveland on Wednesday.

The Bucks are back on action Thursday night, playing host to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bucks escape with home court win over Mavs

Khris Middleton buried two late 3-pointers to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 112-109 win over the Dallas Mavericks in NBA action Friday night at Fiserv Forum.

Middleton scored eight of his 25 points in the final 2 1/2 minutes to help the Bucks secure the victory.

Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with 31 points, but made just 1 of 10 free throws as the Bucks struggled from the line.  As a team, the Bucks hit just 12 of 25 (48%) from the free throw line for the night.

Jrue Holiday also added 16 points and Brook Lopez had 11 as the Bucks (9-4) extended their win streak to four games.

Luka Doncic had 28 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds to lead the Mavericks.  Tim Hardaway Jr. added 22 points.

The Bucks return to action on Monday at Brooklyn.  Dallas returns home to host the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.

Bucks secure third win over Pistons this season

The Milwaukee Bucks built a 23-point first half lead went on to beat the Detroit Pistons 110-101 in Detroit on Wednesday night.

While the Bucks struggled to put the Pistons away with a full 48-minute performance, they still had enough in the tank to knock off Detroit for the third time in the last 10 days.

The Bucks improved to 8-4 on the season, extending their winning streak to 10 games against the Pistons in regular season play.

Detroit (2-9) cut the Bucks near 20 point lead down several times in the second half, but each time the Bucks would find a way to answer and separate themselves again.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a triple-double to lead the Bucks with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.  Jrue Holiday added 21 points, six rebounds and five assists.  Brook Lopez added nine points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots in the win.

The Bucks return to Milwaukee to host the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

Giannis leads Bucks past Pistons

Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 43 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 125-115 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night at Fiserv Forum.  With the win, the Bucks (4-3) moved above .500 for the first time this season.

Antetokounmpo had 30 points by halftime and made 17 of 24 from the field overall, while a pulling down nine rebounds.

After the Bucks hit at least 20 three-pointers in three of their first six games, they had plenty of room to operate inside, outscoring the Pistons 62-42 in the paint.

The Bucks have won eight straight regular season games against Detroit.  The Pistons (1-6) played without two of it’s top scorers, Blake Griffin and Josh Jackson.  They were led in scoring by guard Derrick Rose, who had 24 points.

Khris Middleton added 19 points for the Bucks, who had six players in double figures.  Jrue Holiday added 15 points, D.J. Augustin had 11 and Bryn Forbes and Bobby Portis had 10 each.

The Bucks played without backups Pat Connaughton and Sam Merrill.

The two teams play again Wednesday night in Milwaukee.
