Bucks nearing opening of training camp

The Milwaukee Bucks have added four players with non-guaranteed contracts to their training camp roster, including former Marquette guard Junior Cadougan.

Cadougan played for the Bucks’ summer league team in Las Vegas.  He averaged 8.5 points and 3.8 assists for the Golden Eagles last season.

Also joining the Bucks will be 6’5 Milwaukee native McKinney Jones.  He played three seasons at Miami and ranked sixth all-time among the school’s three-point percentage leaders (38.5%).

They’re joined by Forward Olek Czyz and 6’6 guard Stephen Graham who has 239 games of NBA experience under his belt.

The Bucks now have 19 players on the roster for the start of training camp next Tuesday.

Bucks still hunting for shooting guards

After Kyle Korver decided to stay in Atlanta and sign a 4-year contract with the Hawks, the Milwaukee Bucks are now setting their sights on free agent shooting guard O.J. Mayo.

The Bucks have already lost Mike Dunleavy and J.J. Redick in free agency and they’re trying desperately to add help at shooting guard.

The 25-year old Mayo averaged 15.3points a game for the Dallas Mavericks last season. [Read more…]

Marquette wins Big East opener in OT

Playing without their head coach on Tuesday, the Marquette Golden Eagles won their Big East Conference opener, 82-76 over U-Conn in overtime at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Buzz Williams wasn’t around last night, instead serving a 1-game suspension for an off-season recruiting violation.

Junior Cadougan was the hero, hitting a buzzer beating 3-point basketball in regulation to force the overtime. [Read more…]
