It wasn’t pretty from the opening tip as the Milwaukee Bucks fell behind by as much as 34 points in the first half, and ultimately suffered a 120-66 Game 6 loss to the Bulls at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The 54-point setback is the largest losing deficit ever for a Bucks playoff game. The win gives Chicago a 4-2 Eastern Conference playoff series win, sending the Bulls to a 2nd round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Chicago was hot early, hitting 51% of their shots in the first half, including an 8-for-15 effort from beyond the arc.

Michael Dunleavy scored 19 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the Bulls.

Not a single player reached double figures in scoring for Milwaukee, who were paced by Zaza Pachulia’s eight points. The Bucks struggled from the field, connecting on 25-of-76 (32%) field goal attempts and only 4-of-19 from three. [Read more…]

Missed free throws and periods of stagnant offense were two of the biggest contributors to the Milwaukee Bucks losing Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Playoff series to the rival Bulls, 113-106, in double overtime.

Playing in front of an energetic, yet bi-partisan crowd at the Bradley Center, the Bucks surged to an 18-point second quarter, a lead that was quickly erased by an 18-0 Chicago run.

Trailing by ten with 2:50 remaining in regulation, Khris Middleton scored eight straight points to rally Milwaukee and force overtime. The Bulls started the second OT with a 12-0 to sieze control. [Read more…]

The defense was holding the Bulls in check, and the Milwaukee Bucks led 74-71 early in the fourth quarter.

Then All-Star Jimmy Butler and his Chicago teammates put it all together, ran off a 13-0 run, and seized Game 2 with a 91-82 victory. The Bulls now lead the best-of-seven series two-games-to-none.

Butler, a Marquette product, scored 14 of his playoff career-high 31 points in the fourth quarter. Derrick Rose scored all of his 15 points after halftime.

Khris Middleton led the Bucks for a second consecutive game, tallying 22 points. Michael Carter-Williams added 12. [Read more…]

In a surprising turn of events Saturday night in Chicago, it was offense that ruled the day in a series that pits two of the NBA’s best defensive teams against each other.

The Bulls took advantage of poor Milwaukee Bucks defense to score 60 first half points, en route to a 103-91 win in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Playoff Series.

Marquette alum Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 25 points, while backcourt mate and former MVP Derrick Rose added 23. Rose finished 9-of-16 from the floor, connecting on a flurry of fierce drives to the basket and deep 3’s.

Khris Middleton paced the Milwaukee attack with 18 points. Ersan Ilyasova added 15, with three others scoring in double figures.  [Read more…]

The regular season is down to just a dozen remaining games for the Milwaukee Bucks, yet there is a different type of mood within the BMO Harris Bradley Center locker room and in the stands.

Milwaukee remains the Eastern Conference’s sixth seed with a 34-36 record that has dipped under .500 for the first time since December 27. And that number is trending downward in a hurry.

The Bucks lost their sixth straight game Sunday when Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers scored 64 second half points to rally from a nine-point Milwaukee lead at halftime. [Read more…]
