Bucks cruise to 36th win, top the Knicks

January 15, 2020 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks had their offense rolling on Tuesday night and rolled to a 128-102 win over the New York Knicks at Fiserv Forum.

Giannis Antetokounmpo poured in 37 points in just 21 minutes, adding nine rebounds and four assists.  Khris Middleton added 17 points as the Bucks won by 20 or more points for the 13th time this season.

The Bucks improved to 36-6, staying on pace to become just the third NBA team to win 70 games in a regular season.

It was the third win for the Bucks over New York this season, winning the first two games by 44 and 21 points.

The Bucks hit 8 of their 19 three-point attempts in the first half with seven different players hitting trey’s.

The Bucks got plenty of help from their bench players, who scored 50 points in the contest.

Julius Randle had 25 points and rookie R.J. Barrett added 22 for New York.

The Bucks gave Robin Lopez the night off, so he’ll be plenty rested when they return to action on Thursday night at home against the Boston Celtics.

December 26, 2018 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks managed to hit just six of their 32 three-point shots and missed 17-straight during one stretch.  But their defense was solid and their work in the paint was more than enough to pull out a 109-95 win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points and added 14 rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks to help the Bucks play and win on Christmas Day for the first time since 1977.

The Bucks still haven’t lost back to back games.  The win marked the 10th time this season that the Bucks have followed a loss with a victory.

The Bucks defense combined for 10 steals and seven blocked shots and challenged the Knicks shooting from beyond-the-arc. [Read more…]

The Milwaukee Bucks attempted 40 three-point shots on Monday night and made 17 of them (42.5%) to help knock off the New York Knicks 123-113 at Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks jumped out to a 19 point lead at halftime and let that lead get away entirely in the second half, before closing on a 14-3 run to hold off the Knicks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 31 points and 15 rebounds and Khris Middleton added 30 points, including 7 of 8 from distance as the Bucks improved to 3-0 to start the season, the first time that’s happened since 2005.

Antetokounmpo had been held in check in the first three-quarters, then scored the first nine points in the fourth quarter.

Six Bucks scored in double figures, including all five starters.

The Knicks also had six players score in double figures, led by guard Trey Burke who had 19 points.

The Bucks return to action on Wednesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers at Fiserv Forum.

Antetokounmpo’s buzzer beater does in the Knicks

January 5, 2017 By Bill Scott

Giannis Antetokounmpo makes the cover of this week’s regional Sports Illustrated.

The Milwaukee Bucks ran their winning streak to three games with a come-from-behind 105-104 win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo knocked the ball off Derrick Rose’s leg and out of bounds with 8.6 seconds left.  Then after a timeout, Giannis took the inbounds pass, dribbled a few times and then hit a step back 15-foot fadeaway as the buzzer sounded, giving the Bucks (18-16) the win.

Antetokounmpo had 27 points, 13 rebounds and four assists to lead the Bucks.  Greg Monroe added 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists and Malcolm Brogdon had 12 points and eight assists.

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks (16-19) with 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent New York from a sixth straight defeat.

The two teams will meet again on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

This is the second of three meetings between the two teams this season.  The Knicks won in Milwaukee 102-88 back on November 28th.  Bucks Head Coach Jim Boylan knows it will be tough to get the Knicks in Madison Square Garden:
