The Wisconsin Badgers earned back-to-back wins over the #1 ranked team
in the country.
The Badgers (16-8-2, 7-4-1-0 Big Ten) knocked off the Minnesota Gophers (19-4-5, 8-2-2-0 Big Ten) 2-1 on Friday night, matching Thursday’s 2-1 victory.
Joel Rumpel was spectacular for the second night in-a-row, stopping 28 of 29 Minnesota shots to record the win. The Gophers 2-goals in the series is a season low.
Nic Kerdiles, in his first series back on the ice since suffering an injury on Jan. 4, put the Badgers ahead for good with 15:27 left in the game. The sophomore took a feed from Grant Besse inside the blue line and beat Minnesota goalie Adam Wilcox from straight-on to put the Badgers up for good. [Read more…]
