The Milwaukee Brewers are glad to get out of Atlanta. The Braves swept the Brewers in a 4-game series for the first time ever. Atlanta pulled out a 2-1 victory in the series finale on Thursday night.
Shaun Marcum worked 7-innings and surrendered a solo home run to Eric Hinske in the 2nd inning. Martin Prado clubbed a solo homer in the 8th off of reliever Kameron Loe to win it for the Braves.
The Brewers offense went on vacation in the series. NL Player of the Month for April Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder combined to go just 2 for 30 in the series. Casey McGehee is just 3 for 22 in the first six games of the road trip.
The Brewers fell to 13-18 overall, 4 1/2 games behind front running St. Louis. They’ll open a 3-game series in St. Louis against the Cardinals tonight.
Morgan hurt again
More bad luck for Nyjer Morgan. Morgan had just come off of the disabled list and suffered a broken finger when he was hurt while trying sacrifice bunt. Morgan is expected to miss 2 to 4 weeks.
