Packers offseason dates are set

The Green Bay Packers offseason workout program officially gets underway on April 18.

The Packers will conduct organized team activities (OTA’s) May 22-24, May 31, June 1-2 and June 5-8.  They’ll conclude there offseason program with their mandatory minicamp set for June 13-15.

Phase one of the offseason program is limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation only.

The second phase consists of three weeks of on-field workouts.  Those workouts may include individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a “separates” basis.  No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

The final phase covers the next four weeks and teams can conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity.  No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

Packers to open 5 offseason practices to the public

of the team’s offseason practices will be open to the public.

The open OTA practices are slated for May 21, May 28 and June 11, all Tuesday’s.  The two mandatory minicamp practices are scheduled for June 4 and 5.

The Packers rookie orientation and tryout camp runs May 10-12, but is closed to the public.

The Packers will start their voluntary organized team activities that run May 20-22, May 28-30 and June 11-14 while holding their mandatory minicamp June 4-6.

Players report for the start of training camp on July 25 with the first practice on Friday, July 26.

Hargrove avoids talk of bounty scandal

concerned about his upcoming 8-game suspension and the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, he’s not showing it.

Hargrove is appealing his suspension.  When asked about it, as well as any other aspect of the bounty scandal, Hargove turned the conversation back to football and his new team, the Green Bay Packers.
