Nigel Bradham intercepted a tipped Aaron Rodgers pass in the end zone in the final minute as the Philadelphia Eagles held off the Green Bay Packers comeback attempt 34-27 at Lambeau Field.

Carson Wentz threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns to help the Eagles even their record at 2-2.  Jordan Howard led the Eagles ground attack with 87 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns.  He also caught a touchdown pass.

Rodgers threw for 422 yards, two scores and his first pick of the season.  He completed 34 of 53 but lost a fumble and threw the pick at the end.  Davante Adams caught 10 passes for 180 yards in defeat, but left the game late with a toe injury.

Adams isn’t the only starter that left early.  Running back Jamaal Williams was carted off on a stretcher on [Read more…]

Add a quadriceps injury to Jimmy Graham’s medical report

September 23, 2019 By Bill Scott

Even though the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles won’t practice today (Monday), both teams were required to post injury reports.

The Packers have a total of 14 players on this week’s report, including veteran tight end Jimmy Graham.  Graham was listed on the report last week with a groin injury but played in the Packers 27-16 win over the Denver Broncos.

On today’s injury report, Graham is also listed with a Quadricep injury as well.

The Eagles have a total of 12 players on their injury report, including wide receiver Alshon Jeffery.  Jeffery left the Eagles week two game with a calf injury and missed all of last weeks practice.

Coach Doug Pederson told reporters that he’s hoping to have Jeffery back on the field this week and is hopeful that he can play against the Packers on Thursday night.

Packers open preseason with win over the Eagles

August 11, 2017 By Bill Scott

Brett Hundley (file photo)

After a sluggish start for the offense, Brett Hundley hit wide receiver Jeff Janis for a 20-yard touchdown and the Green Bay Packers went on to knock off the Philadelphia Eagles 24-9 at Lambeau Field on Thursday.

The score was part of 17 unanswered points in the second quarter.  Trevor Davis also took one of his two punt returns back 68 yards for a touchdown, which likely put him in the driver’s seat for the punt return job this season.

A sprained ankle wiped out Hundley’s preseason a year ago, so his start against the Eagles was his first significant playing time since his rookie season two years ago.

Hundley finished 8 of 15 for 90 yards with a touchdown and an interception.  Mason Crosby also booted a 39-yard field goal to send the Packers into the locker room at halftime with a 17-6 lead.

Third-string quarterback Joe Callahan entered in the third quarter and completed 10 of 16 passes for 103 yards.  Rookie Taysom Hill came on late and threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Michael Clark with nine seconds left to play. [Read more…]

Packers face must win against Eagles tonight

While the Green Bay Packers wouldn’t be mathematically eliminated by losing at Philadelphia tonight, but their post season chances would take a major hit.

The Packers (4-6) will try to end a four-game losing streak against the Eagles (5-5) at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Packers expect to get a pair of defensive starters back tonight.  Both cornerback Damarious Randall and linebacker Jake Ryan are expected to play.

Just how effective Randall (groin) can be remains to be seen.  But he is the only cornerback on the roster that has an interception this season.  The Packers as a team is -6 in turnover differential, which ranks 26th in the NFL this season. [Read more…]

Eagles sign former Badger, Moffitt

June 30, 2015 By Bill Scott

John Moffitt

John Moffitt

The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Wisconsin Badger guard John Moffitt to a one-year contract this week.

Moffitt was a third-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2011.  He started 15 games in Seattle before being traded to Denver.  Moffitt played in two games for the Broncos in 2013 before retiring in midseason after losing interest in the game and saying he’s worried about his health.

Moffitt then ran into trouble with the law after being arrested in March 2014 for allegedly punching a man and was charged with assault, public urination and possession of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.  The drug charges were eventually released.
