Brewers lose again without Braun in the line-up

July 6, 2011 By Bill Scott

All-Star OF Ryan Bruan missed his third straight game Tuesday night as the Brewers fell at home to Arizona 7-3.  Braun has been out since injuring a calf muscle Saturday in Minnesota.  He is still listed as day-to-day.

On the field, the Brewers got behind early as they lost back-to-back home games for the first time this season.  Starting pitcher Randy Wolf gave up 4-runs in the 1st and 3-runs in the 3rd putting Milwaukee in a hole they couldn’t dig out of.  Manager Ron Roenicke isn’t pointing the finger at Wolf…

Knuckleball is too much for Brewers!

June 20, 2011 By Bill Scott

Tim Wakefield’s knuckleball did in the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.  Wakefield held the Brewers to 3-hits over 8-innings as the Boston Red Sox pulled out a 12-3 win at Fenway on Sunday.

Wakefield had little worries after the Red Sox scored 6-times off of Yovani Gallardo (8-4) in the first inning.  Gallardo was hit for 8-runs in all, on 9-hits.  He struck out only 4 in three-plus innings. [Read more…]

Morgan & Fielder lead Brewers to comeback win (AUDIO)

June 9, 2011 By Bill Scott

Nyjer Morgan didn’t even know he won the game with his 9th inning walk off hit.  Morgan’s 2-out, run-scoring double in the 9th plated Craig Counsell from second and sent the Milwaukee Brewers to a come-from-behind 7-6 win at Miller Park.  Morgan admitted afterwards that he thought the game was only in the 8th inning.

The Brewers led 2-1 heading to the 8th.  But Kameron Loe promptly gave up 5-runs to the Mets and things looked bleak with the Brewers down 6-2.  But the Brewers didn’t give up.  Prince Fielder tied the game 6-6 with the second of his two, 2-run homers.  Fielder now has 17 home runs and 54 rbi’s on the season.  Fielder moved past Gorman Thomas into 3rd place on the Brewers all-time home run list (209).  [Read more…]

Capuano beats his former team

June 8, 2011 By Bill Scott

Chris Capuano pitched with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2004 through last season.  Last night, he returned in a New York Mets uniform, facing his old team.  Capuano tossed six solid innings and beat the Brewers 2-1 at Miller Park.

The only blemish for Capuano came on a sixth inning solo home run off the bat of Prince Fielder.  That blast put the Brewers in front, but Jose Reyes answered in the top of the 7th, tripling in two runs to wrap up the scoring. [Read more…]
