Bucks set their 15-man roster

October 16, 2018 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks set their 15-man, regular season roster on Monday.  Forward Christian Wood won the battle for the team’s final roster spot, holding off the challenges of Shabazz Muhammad, Tyler Zeller and Tim Frazier..

Wood averaged 13.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in nearly 20 minutes a game during the preseason.  Wood shot 66.7% from the field, including 37.5% from three-point range (3 of 8) during the preseason.

The Bucks will open the regular season on Wednesday night at Charlotte.

Late surge lifts Bucks to victory over Hawks

February 14, 2018 By Bill Scott

The Bucks let the Atlanta Hawks stick around last night, then a late surge carried Milwaukee to a 97-90 win at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

After entering the fourth quarter with a 13 point lead, the Bucks found themselves tied with the Hawks with 3 1/2 minutes left to play.  But back-to-back baskets by Giannis Antetokounmpo and a dunk by Eric Bledsoe got the Bucks rolling again, closing out the victory.

Without center John Henson in the lineup (sore hamstring), newcomer Tyler Zeller had 14 points and 8 rebounds off the bench and Thon Maker added 12 points on 5 of 7 shooting from that center spot.

Khris Middleton led all scorers with 21 points for the Bucks.  Antetokounmpo added 15 points and 15 rebounds.

The Bucks play their last game before the All-Star break on Thursday night against the Denver Nuggets at the Bradley Center.  Denver (30-26 entering Tuesday) had won seven of their last 10 games.

Bucks stand pat as trade deadline passes

February 9, 2018 By Bill Scott

While the Cleveland Cavaliers were flipping nearly half of their roster, the Milwaukee Bucks stood pat as the NBA’s Trade Deadline passed on Thursday afternoon.

The Bucks had already acquired center Tyler Zeller on Monday and point guard Eric Bledsoe earlier in the season.  They’ll use their current roster to take them the rest of the way.

The Bucks will take a three-game winning streak into tonight’s game at Miami.  They’ve won 7 of their last 8 games overall.

The Bucks are expected to get John Henson back in the lineup tonight after he missed their last game with hamstring tightness.  He was able to go through a full practice on Thursday.

Thursday’s workout was also a good opportunity for Zeller to get further acquainted with his new teammates, as well as the Bucks playbook.
