The Milwaukee Bucks rallied from 14-points down to tie the game at 89-all, but the Dallas Mavericks rebounded to pull out a 103-93 win at American Airlines Center on Monday night.

Former Marquette standout Wesley Matthews answered the Bucks run with a pair of three pointers to give Dallas a 95-91 lead, a lead they would not relinquish.

Matthews led the Mavericks (18-13) with 22 points and former Buck Zaza Pachulia had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Dallas.  Dirk Nowitzki was just 3 of 15 from the field and scored a season-low seven points.

Jerryd Bayless returned to the Bucks lineup after missing eleven games with an ankle injury.  He came off the bench and led the Bucks with 19 points.  Khris Middleton, who was ejected in the final seconds, added 15 points for the Bucks (12-20) who dropped to three-and-14 on the road this season.

The Bucks have a quick turn-around, facing the Thunder in Oklahoma City tonight.

In desperate need of a win after six straight losses, the Milwaukee Bucks rallied to beat the Miami Heat 89-88 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center Tuesday night.

Milwaukee trailed 85-71 before scoring 14 straight points, part of an 18-3 run to close out the game, which ended in dramatic fashion.

Down by two guard Jerryd Bayless forced a jump ball against the Heat’s Michael Beasley with just over 10 seconds remaining, then won the jump despite giving up six inches in height. After Bayless missed a layup, Zaza Pachulia saved the ball right to Khris Middleton, who buried the game-winning three-pointer. [Read more…]

Bucks go 0-4 on road trip, fall to Golden State

March 5, 2015 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks logo 2Stephen Curry sank three 3-pointers in a 66-second span to break open a close game and give the Golden State Warriors a 102-93 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Oracle Arena on Wednesday night.

The Bucks (32-29) have dropped four-straight, all four coming on their 4-game trip out west.  It’s also the sixth loss in the last seven games.

Despite the loss, last night’s game was the best of the trip for the Bucks, who held Curry in check for much of the game, until he went off with the three 3-pointers that helped push a 3-point Golden State lead to 10-points.

Michael Carter-Williams and Giannis Antetokounmpo each had 16 points for the Bucks.  Khris Middleton added 14,  Zaza Pachulia had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Ersan Ilyasova 13 points and 10 boards.

The Bucks committed 24 turnovers that led to 28 points for the Warriors.  Curry finished with 19 points for Golden Estate.  Draymond Green had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the way.

The Bucks return home to host the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.

Ilyasova leads Bucks to blowout win

March 4, 2014 By Bill Scott

Blowout wins have been hard to come by for the Milwaukee Bucks, but they experienced one last night, rolling to a 114-88 win over the Utah Jazz at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Ersan Ilyasova finished with 31 points on 13 of 14 shooting.  His only miss came in the third quarter on a missed putback attempt.

The five Bucks starters combined to shoot 76% (28 of 37) from the field and the Bucks as a team shot 57% overall.

The Bucks (12-47) have won two of their last three, but they have never won back-to-back games this season.  They’ll have a chance on Wednesday night when the Sacramento Kings visit the Bradley Center.

Zaza Pachulia finished with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists and Ramon Sessions had 14 off the bench.

Bucks host Magic tonight

February 18, 2014 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks return from their all-star break to host the Orlando Magic in NBA action tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

They have 30-games left in the season and carry the league’s worst record at
9-43 into tonight’s game.

Unfortunately, the Bucks will be without big man Larry Sanders.  Just when Sanders was starting to put his slow start behind him with some solid performances, he suffered fractures to his right orbital bone on Feb. 8 against Houston.  He had surgery to repair those fractures and will be out at least six weeks.

Sanders had already missed 23 games when he suffered a torn right thumb ligament in a bar fight.

Zaza Pachulia will start at center in Sanders place tonight.  The Bucks are
0-3 on their six-game home stand.

Pachulia sidelined for the next four weeks

December 9, 2013 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks GM John Hammond announced today that Bucks big man Zaza Pachulia suffered a right foot fracture on Dec. 4 and will have his foot immobilized in a walking boot and re-examined in four weeks.

Pachulia hasn’t played in the last two games.  The injury was diagnosed when Pachulia underwent an MRI on Dec. 5.

In 17 games this season, Pachulia has averaged 6.9 points and 6.5 rebounds and ranks fourth in the NBA in free throw percentage (.933), connecting on 42 of 45 attempts from the charity stripe.
