Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said tackle Mark Tauscher, who was placed on season ending injured reserve late last week, will undergo shoulder surgery today.
McCarthy said Tauscher tried to battle through the injury, but it just wasn’t going to work, even with a harness.

McCarthy was encouraged by the progress of injured players Andrew Quarless and Pat Lee during the bye week.
Defensive end Ryan Pickett took part in Monday’s workout on a limited basis, but will likely test his sprained ankle out later in the week. Pickett said he’s not sure he’ll be able to play this week. He was asked where he needs to be to play against the Vikings.

The Packers have the day off today. They’ll return to the practice field on Wednesday.
