While some people do wait until the last minute to file their tax returns, a revenue official believes not as many people hold out that long.

If you haven’t filed already, Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler suggests filing electronically. He says it’s easy, fast, accurate, and filers can get immediate confirmation that the returns have been received. Also, Chandler notes, there’s help available. He says there are volunteer sights around the state providing assistance.

Chandler says trained volunteers can help folks who are less Internet savvy. Just call 211 to get more information about sight locations.

Taxpayers have a few extra days to file this year, because of Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in Washington D.C., which falls on Friday, April 15.
