Investigators say three teens killed Tuesday when their car collided with a truck on the Interstate in Jefferson County do not appear to have been wearing seat belts. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victims as 17-year-old Amanda L. Nowicki of Hartland and 17-year-old Sean R. White of Oregon, and the driver, 16-year-old driver Victoria M. Braun of McFarland.

According to deputies, a Honda Civic driven by Braun on eastbound Interstate 94 struck a construction barrel, then went across the median into the westbound lanes, where it struck a truck and rolled into the ditch. The 24 year-old truck driver was wearing his seat belt and was treated at the scene. The crash occurred shortly after 1:00 PM near Ixonia, about 10 miles southeast of Watertown.
