Wisconsin’s top executive and members of the Legislature could face term limits, under a proposed constitutional amendment being considered at the Capitol.

The measure, which received a public hearing Thursday, would limit the governor and lieutenant governor to serving just two four-year terms. State legislators would only be able serve 12 years in each house.

The proposal would need approval in back-to-back legislative sessions, before it would got to voters statewide for consideration.
