Vinny Testaverde will start at quarterback Sunday when the Carolina Panthers face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Coach John Fox chose the 44 year old Testaverde on Friday, over a healthy David Carr.  Fox said Testaverde had a good week of practice but wouldn't name him the permanent starter for the Panthers (4-5).

That means the combined age between Testaverde and Brett Favre will be 82 years when the two hit the field Sunday.  The two have a combined 38 years of NFL experience.

Testaverde made a surprise return for his 21st NFL season after Carolina came to him in desperate need of a quarterback.  The Panthers had lost starter Jake Delhomme to a season ending elbow injury, and lost third string QB Brett Basanez to an injury during training camp.
