The status of Wisconsin’s workforce is the topic at a series of briefings this week. Competitive Wisconsin spokesman Jim Wood says these events–in Platteville, Green Bay, Fond du Lac and Oshkosh–are a continuation of economic summits in 2010.
Some of the group’s recommendations from two-years-ago are now a reality such as revamping the state commerce department into a private/public partnership.
State Department of Workforce Development officials will speak at this week’s events while Competitive Wisconsin will discuss this summer’s research project. The group is partnering with Manpower in determining what the state’s labor force should be like in the next decade.
This fall, they will repeat the economic summit series– focusing on workforce development–in September, October and November.
