Wisconsin Badger senior offensive tackle Joe Thomas has been named to the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy, which annually goes to the nation's top interior lineman. The winner is selected by the Football Writers Association of America's All-America Committee, which selects the association's 25-man team and picks three Outland Trophy finalists. The 2006 Outland Trophy announcement will be on Dec. 7 in Orlando, Florida. The Brookfield native, Thomas, already has been named to several preseason All-America teams, including Playboy, Lindy's, Street & Smith's and Athlon's. He also is on the preseason watch list for the Lombardi Award.
