As President Barack Obama gets ready to make his second visit of the week to Wisconsin, Republican US Senate candidate Tommy Thompson says he’s not concerned about any boost it may provide to his Democratic opponent.
President Obama was in Green Bay Thursday, will be in Milwaukee today, and has a rally planned in Madison Monday where he will be joined by Bruce Springsteen. Thompson says the visits are a clear sign the president is worried about his chances in the state, arguing he would not keep coming back here if he thought he was going to win Wisconsin on Tuesday.

The former Republican governor faces Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin in the race for Wisconsin’s open US Senate seat.
While recent polls have shown Thompson with a slight lead over Baldwin, several have also given President Obama a growing lead over Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Thompson claims the enthusiasm of the Wisconsin GOP base will move the election in their favor this coming Tuesday.
