Tiger Woods picked up his 11th major victory on Sunday, winning the British Open by 2-shots over Chris DiMarco. Woods birdied three holes on the back nine, becoming the first player since Tom Watson in 1982 and 1983 to win back to back British Open titles. Woods also won the 2000 title, giving him 3 British Open titles. The 11 total major championships ties him with Walter Hagen, seven behind Jack Nicklaus' all-time record. Woods has won four Masters, three British, two U-S Opens and two P-G-A titles. Woods fired a final round five-under par 67 for the win, finishing 18-under for the tournament. Ernie Else was 13-under, and Jim Furyk 12-under par, finishing 5 and 6 shots back. — Madison's Jerry Kelly climbed to as high as 8-under par during yesterday's final round, but fell back to 4-under at the finish. That's good for a tie for 26th.
