First responders were able to revive a toddler who was found floating late Thursday morning in a fishing pond in an Appleton park. Appleton Police Sergeant Dave Lund said the girl’s mother called 911 after she lost sight of the child on a playground at Memorial Park. Several people helped look for the girl and they found her in the water before police and firefighters arrived on the scene.

Lund said the 14-month-old girl was unresponsive, but paramedics were able to restart her heart on the way to a local hospital and were also able to get her breathing again. She’s been moved to a Milwaukee hospital.
