The annual Tomahawk Fall Ride brought thousands of motorcycles to the Northwoods, and with it, a few motorcycle crashes.
Lincoln County deputies were called to a crash involving two motorcycles and three people Sunday morning. A 54-year-old man and woman from Elkhorn were rear-ended by another motorcycle driven by a 51-year-old woman. The lead motorcycle had slowed down for a porcupine in the road.
All three riders were taken to hospitals. The 51-year-old woman has head injuries, and was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The couple from Elkhorn went to Sacred Heart Hospital, but the man was transferred to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield for further treatment. Their names and conditions have not been released. None of the riders were wearing helmets.
Another crash happened in Lincoln County Saturday night. A woman riding on Highway CC near Co-op Park Road northwest of Tomahawk took a corner too fast and left the roadway. This crash happened at 5:40 p.m. She has non-life threatening injuries.

The first crash surrounding the event occurred on Thursday afternoon when two motorcycles collided on Highway 107 near Sugar Maple Road.
Investigators say the female operator rear ended another motorcycle that had slowed down for turkeys in the roadway.
The 33rd annual Tomahawk Fall Ride raises funds and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The event draws up to 50,000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders and visitors to the Northwoods each September with entertainment and the latest motorcycles and accessories from Harley-Davidson.
