continues to show he hasn’t lost his connections or impact on Wisconsin by landing the state’s top senior recruit.
Merrill’s Paul Jesperson, labeled the top senior prospect by wissports.net, will make the University of Virginia his basketball home. The 6’7 standout picked Virginia over Notre Dame and Minnesota.
Bennett played collegiately at Green Bay, then played in the NBA before turning to the coaching ranks. He spent time as an assistant at Wisconsin before following his father Dick Bennett to Washington State. Tony Bennett eventually took over as the Cougars head coach and later moved to Virginia to coach the Cavaliers.
