Something different, in the effort to combat drunk driving in Wisconsin. It's the state's first-ever town hall meeting on impaired driving, taking place today at Middleton High School.

"The intent is really to come up with some strategies to combat drunken driving statewide," says Steve Olson with the state Department of Transportation. The forum is being presented as a chance for experts in the field — and members of the public — to air their views and perhaps develop some effective strategies, with a particular focus on ignition interlock devcies. Still, Olson says nothing will be off the table, including the controversial and unpopular idea of sobriety checkpoints.

The town hall meeting will include the National President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, state and local elected officials, judges, prosecutors, law enforcement officers and citizens.
