At a town hall meeting in Fitchburg Monday night there were numerous questions about Dane County's 911 Call Center. This after the mishandling of a call from the phone of Madison murder victim Brittany Zimmermann. Zimmerman, a UW student, was killed in her apartment April 2nd.  The capability, accountability, and reliability of emergency dispatch services were on the minds of the nearly 100 people in attendance.

"The problem is leadership," said one local man. Another resident said there has been a "pass" on making a financial commitment and resources to the call center.

One of the event organizers was Eileen Brusketwitz who has plans to address the problems including immediate and regular reports to the county board on the performance of the 911 center. County Supervisor John Hendrick is also calling for public safety property tax to fund the 911 center and rural patrol sheriff's deputies.
