Should the state be monitoring for toxic toys? A lawmaker wants Wisconsin to begin tracking toys for toxins. The proposal from state Representative Corey Mason would have the Department of Ag, Trade, and Consumer Protection keep an eye on what's on store shelves. The Racine Democrat's bill, modeled after similar legislation in Maine, would require DATCP to publish a list of prohibited chemicals and require manufacturers of children's products that contain those chemical to replace them.
