The Brewers have shed some light on who will be their back-up catcher in 2010. The job appears to belong to George Kottaras as the Brewers shipped his competition Matt Treanor to the Texas Rangers Monday.

Kottaras is batting .312 in 12-games and is tied for 2nd on the club with 2 home runs this spring. Treanor hit just .200 in his 10-games this spring. Milwaukee claimed Kottaras off waivers from the Boston Red Sox after the 2009 season. He hit .237 with 1-homer and 10-RBIs in 2009 for Boston.

In exchange for Treanor, the Brewers received infielder Roy Olmedo. Olmedo has not been in the majors since 2007 when he was with the Blue Jays. He has played in 198-games in the Majors between 2003 and 2007 with Cincinnati and Toronto. Olmedo is batting .294 this spring in 17 at-bats.
